We are an old-fashioned neighborhood meat market and catering service, that offers fresh meats including beef, pork, lamb, chicken and fresh turkeys for the holidays.
Father and son, Leo and Dennis Hanlen, decided to start the business when Leo was head of the meat cutters with the A&P grocery stores and his son was a 14-year-old journeyman meat cutter. It wasn't until Dennis was an adult that the shop opened in 1972 next door to the current location.
They wanted to have something of their own as well as provide services they thought weren't being provided in the supermarkets. Leo and Dennis prided themselves on providing customers the exact cut of meat that they knew would make their meal or event the success they were looking for. Dennis' son, Brady continues that tradition today as the company's president, while his mother Donna still owns the shop and serves as treasurer.
